Comments
Comments: Got a nice early start (-8*) and went right to Lonesome lake with just spikes. Continued up Fishin Jimmy and changed to snowshoes at the campsite for the added traction and televators. Kept them on the rest of the hike. Caught pre-sunrise on North Kinsman, Even more light on South Kinsman, and full sunrise on North Kinsman. What a beautiful morning to be out. Decided to continue over to Cannon via Kinsman Ridge Tr. over the Cannon Balls, and was pleasantly surprised. It had new snow on it, but a snowshoe base underneath. Not fully packed, but enough to follow easily without causing any problems with walking. Not the case after going to Cannon summit and descending Hi Cannon. What a mess. Been bare booted for a while and it is nothing but holes, steps, and a very narrow trail. Too narrow for snowshoes in places which made travel a pain in the ass. I did pass three guys down near the bottom and gave them all gold stars for wearing their snowshoes, so with a bit of effort this trail may get cleaned up a bit before the big storm this weekend. Back to the car and noticed it had warmed up substantially (-2*) but the sun was out, so it felt like 10*
