Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We weren't brave enough to use the tree at the one big crossing on Dicey's Mill so we crossed a bit downstream - snow bridge partially gave way on the way out but snowshoes didn't get wet - no others of significance
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown on Rollins that's an easy stopover and a few others partially in the trail - few blazes on Rollins, this can be tricky to follow in spots when all previous tracks get blown in - no other concerns

Comments
Comments: Perfect day for these two given the forecast - an out and back in winter is always our route to avoid Blueberry Ledge, especially for Maddie. About 3-4" of new snow the majority of the way allowed us to use snowshoes car to car, just enough where it wasn't real trail breaking but we could help smooth out the track (and use our televators). Some drifting on Rollins in the usual spots but easily manageable - even with the relatively light winds today though they were already a bit drifted over on the way back. Some hard ice under the snow in the usual spots on Dicey's Mill just above the Rollins junction and near the spring on Rollins just west of the Dicey's Mill junction, also both easily navigable. These trails are broken out but far from consolidated - if hiking these peaks before the snow this weekend snowshoes are definitely still warranted - snowshoes will help improve the track plus we saw many postholes that went pretty deep and looked painful . All trails we junctioned had signs of fairly recent use but no tracks from today, we had the place to ourselves. Thanks Ali and Maddie for a great day, congrats Maddie on two more winter 4k's!
