Beaver Brook picnic area is sort of plowed; there were at least 2†new snow overnight, and that plus not being fully plowed after last Monday’s shenanigans meant that I used speed to my advantage to get where I needed to go. ;) |

I saw absolutely no one today! There were 2-3†new snow overnight; I wore snowshoes the whole day and they were just perfect. You can see a few dozen really nasty bareboot postholes on the upper part of the Gale River Trail (watch your step!) but other than that it’s starting to be a nice trench from consistent snowshoe-rs. Thank you! The steep part of the Twinway, between the hut and South Twin, was particularly easy to traverse due to prior snowshoers!
Really terrific day above treeline - though it was below zero at the trailhead, there was absolutely no wind so the wind chill warning was not a concern. |
