A nice day for a winter hike – cold and almost no wind. Snowshoes came along for the ride as all trails were packed out. We did consider snowshoes a couple times but the places where they would have been useful were short. Put on traction almost from the start. Section from Piper Mnt. to Belknap Mnt. had a few unpacked areas of loose snow. Stopped a few times for photos and short snack breaks. 5.6 miles; 1,814 feet elevation gain; Time: 4:40 |
