Wore spikes but snowshoes would have worked just as well. Beaver XC ski.. evidence lots of hikers have been on it and stepped all over the ski tracks. Gale River Trail easy at first then steep for final stretch. Fun butt sledding that last stretch on way down. Garfield Ridge Trail easy. But closed. Frost Trail steeper than I remember. Weather turned out fine despite wind chill warning and potential for snow. Met two amazing guys who winter camped on the Twins. You guys rock! Overall long hike. Trails in good shape. Take snowshoes.. will be easier than spiks.. snow was a little unstable and likely to posthole |
