blue bottle/thermos; looks like a female hiker lost the bottle while sliding down the trail during her descend; left it at the trail sign in the unplowed hiker lot |

awesome day with better weather than forecast; temperature inversion--colder at the parking lot and on the trail; had to delayer on sunny Cannon summit; no wind at all on the tower
two hikers used snowshoes; 4 of us carried them but opted to bareboot; two icy sections in the steep part of the trail--for those I was happy I wore microspikes; other than that, no traction devices needed
as previously noted, wrong tracks in the upper section, above tree line; twice, trail appears to continue towards the right (wrong) when the actual trail takes a sharp left turn each time
wonderful to meet hiking royalty sans dog for joyful conversation during the descend |
