Comments
Comments: There was a car parked where they stop plowing on Bennett St Loop Road and I parked next to it. There were snowshoe tracks headed up the road and I figured someone must be walking their dog. I only walked a 100 feet up the tracks and took a hard right and headed nearly due north and thought I'd try my luck going nearly straight at the peak. I had good luck, when I hit the cliff band I went slightly to my left and found good routes. Before reaching the summit I west a short distance to a big blow down area that had impressive vista of Sandwich Mt. and all the way to Flat Mountain. Then I went straight up and hit the south bump in the middle of the blowdown area and then I went down and up into the trees to the other summit bump. I reread my post from Oct 2015 and had found a handle on the south and a jar on the north but today I found nothing except on my return to the south bump LIAM found me! OH MY I exclaimed, he didn't scare me, I was just excited because all these bushwhacks I have just missed a few people but this was the first time I ran into someone and on the summit! I walked back over with Liam to the north bump and we hunted and we didn't find a jar. Liam decided to return with me down my steep route. I had a fun time jumping into the sugary snow, I often didn't follow my track but enjoyed fresh snow. Lots of deer tracks and crossed where they had bedded down for the evening. Beautiful open hardwoods. Nice sunny single digit day. Snowshoes were great fun today. I left Liam to go home and he went over to hit Young Mt.
