Comments
Comments: After a Wim Hof shower experience at a budget hotel i rodeway and set out for an excellent type II hike of the Kinsmans with a balmy 28 degrees warming to 33 by the end of hike..Speedway conditions to start with micros on a nicely packed trail with minimal new snow. Layered up about a 1/2 mile before KRT and switched to Hillsounds trail crampons. Once on KRT immediately switched to snowshoes- should've skipped the middle changeout. Encountered some amazing drifts and unbroken trail from this point to S Kinsman thru to Lonesome Lake trail. Although snowfall amounts were minimal the winds combined with heavy gusts were moving tons of snow consistently. My tracks were covered on the return from S Kinsman. Highly recommend snowshoes for this hike. As this report is being written im watching sunshine and blue skies emerging. Happy Hiking!
