Comments
Comments: Day 76, Peak 67. 3rd hike of the day after Osgood Hill and Hodgeman Hill. Temps in the low signal digits here. Wind was calming down but you definitely still felt it!

In classic Cooney fashion, I began my hike by going the wrong way. I knew that I wanted to do the loop so I went left but the trail doesn’t split into the loop for 70yd. I actually took a road. Thinking it was too flat, I checked Gaia and sure enough was on some road soon to intersect with the MSG. Rather than turn around, I continued to the MSG and turned right on that which in under a half mile took me to the summit. Just a bit longer than the regular routes to the summit and it led me through some nice bushes (which were of course dead but I love trails like that!). I climbed up to the tower but the door was locked. Beautiful sunset views :) I went down the Blue Trail which was a very quick and easy downhill . I look forward to returning here to redline the other half of the loop and grab the Jackson Hill and the section of the MSG between Pitcher and Jackson.

Even with my going a roundabout way on my ascent, the hike still took less than a half hour. 289 more days and 298 more peaks to go…
