| Comments: |
I had the mountain and trails to myself today. Trail was in good shape throughout. The blow-downs and water crossings are easy to navigate around. I was able to bare-boot from the car to about 1/3 mile up the Signal Ridge Trail. From there I used microspikes. Based on other trip reports I left my snowshoes in the car but they would have been useful, particularly above 3500 feet where high winds were drifting snow and covering my track by the time I returned. If I were going back out before the snow we are expecting on Monday 1/17, I WOULD bring snowshoes to get the heel-lift benefit as well as to help pack down the trail high on the mountain. |
