The final section of dirt road was plowed, but not sanded (icy). The lot itself was not plowed, but packed down. Not much room for overflow, as the entrance to the lot is an active snowmobile corridor. |

| Comments: |
Trails had full snow cover, but were packed enough to warrant Microspiking without any postholing. I opted to wear snowshoes roundtrip; apart from the brief rocky section above the split, the trail was not at all bony. There are a couple of blue ice bulges (including the ledge turn), so snowshoes or light traction are needed. Maybe a foot or so of snowpack with powder on top (slight drifting up high).
Snowmobile trail has been groomed (a bit thin) and is in active use.
Late morning start with the temperature at -5F and some wind. Warmed up to 0F by 11:30. |
