Great day to be out hiking. Didn’t see another person all day. On the way to the trailhead I saw very few cars out at other trailheads, I believe the cold scared everyone away hehe. The conditions are great, minimal very firm packed snow at lower elevations and some drifting higher up. I didn’t wear snowshoes and I didn’t die (shocker to all you diehard snowshoe carries). I probably could’ve put snowshoes on for the ridge but the snow was so crusty I think it would’ve only pissed me off. You could use snowshoes on this hike or you could skip them with the current conditions. If you’re thinking of getting out and enjoying these trail conditions go get after it!! |
