Wow! this was the winner of the three hikes that we did today. still not enough snow for shoes, however we did follow the fresh tracks of two shoers ahead of us. we wore spikes the entire trip. The ice bulges in the falls are impressive. caught up to the two snow shoers at the last blaze. we kept going following some old footsteps (and gaia says the trail keeps going), up to the the last (?) falls which dump into a nice pool that would be awesome in the summer. on the return we opted to climb up a little more and took a lovely bushwhack down through open woods (there were also some old footsteps that we crossed /recrossed a couple of times) regaining the trail about .7 from the parking lot. There is about 8 inches of snow in the woods. r@dline #2 complete. |
