Comments
Comments: A FINE day in the forest! I think I speak for many when I let out a boisterous cheer for the return of Snow Miser! While this is a really low snow year, Mr. Ten Below delivered today atleast with the temps! I am almost certain I saw him kick stepping from afar along Franconia Ridge. The top hat was a dead giveaway. It was -2 at the trailhead to start. Glad we waited for it to warm up. Trails are in fine shape, honestly there is so little snow its sad. Spikes car to car. Maybe one day this winter I can use snowshoes. Last nights storm dropped about 2" of fresh powder, but its so cold it's not going to consolodate until tomorrow - when it sleets. Several familiar faces today, including one gridder and multiple aspiring gridders - one within twenty and another within twenty-nine! A no nonsense day, the coldest one so far this winter. Thankfully abundant sunshine, no clouds, nor any wind contibuted to a stellar day. Abundant frosty braids and beards today. No issues in spikes only today. We even cut some of the switchbacks. Maybe 18" of snow in the woods. Come on its JANUARY. SNOW ALREADY! "I never want to know a day that's over 40°,I'd rather have it 30, 20, 10, 5 and let it freeeee-eeeeze! He's Mr. Icicle, He's Mr. Ten Below..."
