Comments
Comments: Frigid start to the day, only about 13 degrees to start and pretty much the same when we returned to the car. We opted to start the hike after 9 to let the sun come up and give us the illusion of warmth. The day turned out to be a stunner with views for miles . Trails were mostly hard packed snow with some ice under the snow. We opted to wear Hillsound trail crampons for the entire day. Still boney down low for snowshoes. You could use them along the ridge but we were not postholing , so not really needed. Crossed paths with a few who had ascended Flume slide, they said it was pretty gnarly. Glad we did the out and back liberty springs. Fast conditions for these two, go get ‘em !
