Comments
Comments: The trail is rock hard after this deep freeze. Went up Avalon first as not to have to descend it. Bulging boilerplate ice with a thin layer of snow is what to expect. Bring aggressive traction. My Hillsounds, new late last year were able to get purchase on most of the ice. The ridge is hard packed snow or solid frozen former slush. Watch for ankle breaking nuggets. Tom spur has minimal coverage with lots of rocks mixed in. Descent via AZ was fast and uneventful
