Comments
Comments: A frigid but beautiful sunrise hike of Mt Lafayette and beyond. Brisk winds this morning had me layering up into full winter gear approx 1/4 mile before the hut. Found a nice spot on the lee side of Mt Lafayette out of the wind to enjoy a fantastic January sunrise. Winds relaxed substantially by the time i arrived at Little Haystack.Micros on for the entire hike but highly recommend carrying traction as well. there is spotty blue ice throughout.Snowshoes along for the ride today... it turned out the spot i was concerned with between Little Haystack and Liberty Springs intersection was no issue at all with a fairly nice track to follow. It was nice briefly chatting with another sunrise hiker that was heading up Falling Waters this morning both in the lot and on the side of Mt Lincoln. i crossed paths with seven others today enjoying this fine Costanza type of day.
