 | Comments: |
Lower part of the trail was better than expected, packed frozen ice/snow. Trail starts to show more ice near the ledges ~2 miles up. After the ledges start, the trail is mostly ice flow. Sharp Hillsound spikes did fine, but I wouldn’t chance this one right now with rock spikes. On a warmer day, dull spikes might have more purchase but not today!
One extra note: there are some social trails up top which tromp thru alpine vegetation, not yet covered in snow. Take care to stay on durable surfaces and established trails. |
