| Comments: |
A rainy/warm ascent, which softened the ice and made for good traction. I wore spikes all the way and ascended Falling Waters. Throughout the hike the trail was mostly packed snow/crunchy white ice. The ice on stream crossings was thin; I almost stepped through into the water a couple of times. Once up on the ridge, the rain transitioned to snow. Despite the ridge being completely socked it, it was a beautiful day. |
