Hancock Notch Trail..all crossings solid..well packed out excellent snowshoe track......Cedar Brook Trail..all crossings solid..excellent packed out snowshoe track..perfect snowshoe conditions..hancock loop trail..well packed out snowshoe track to the loop...we headed up North.. as expected while somewhat packed there were soft sections and areas of heavy postholes..snowshoes slid a bit..micros postholed now and then..parts of the trail up high where the snow deeper quite trashed out..we did what we could..Ridge trail had soft drifted powder most of the way with areas of packed trail..some major postholes along the ridge since repaired...well packed out now..the infamous mud pits frozen over and gone for the season..a bit brushy in spots..Descent from South.. snow shoes worked with some slips..we made a slow descent..not sure if mini cramps might have worked here or not but trail is pretty well packed out now.. |
