Comments
Comments: What a great time to snag the Bonds for the winter. We base camped 2 nights at the old wilderness / bond trail junction for 2 nights and we sumitted the bonds on the 31st. Traction and snowshoes enjoyed the free ride. The snow was sticky but hard packed and perfect for barebooting. We got our first ever undercast on top of Bond, and it was just epic to see Franconia Ridge and Washington pop out from the clouds.

It was raining on Jan 1st as we left making slushy conditions. Spikes will probably be required when it freezes, but conditions are fast and should remain that way. This is the fastest we’ve ever hiked the Bonds, so if you need them for the winter and you want fast trails, you better get out there before we get more snow (fingers crossed).
