Nice hike up to Cave Mountain - slope by the cave was great for micro spikes for a bit of extra traction -mix of frozen leaves/ground/snow. Cool icicles in the cave area. Mt. Langdon Trail packed down -light snow pack at the beginning -at times it felt like spring hiking- snowshoes on or not? Nice to have snowshoes on as we went higher up and snow pack got a bit deeper. Hard to believe it is hiking in January - small streams fully open and even where there was “more†snow still seemed low for this time of year. Nice day out even with the overcast skies and mist. |
