It was a beautiful day for Whiteface and Passaconaway! Lots of clouds and fog as we climbed up Blueberry Ledge Trail. The trail was in incredible shape. The ledges were fine. I got up them without hurting myself or needing a boost. My buddy reminded me that I have done harder things, and that helped. Clouds cleared for some terrific undercast at the "summit" lookout. We had a great time chatting it up with some hikers from Western Mass. Onto Rollins Trail, which was a wonderful winter wonderland. The last bit to Passaconaway's summit was steep, but the trail was beautifully packed and we had no trouble getting up it. Again, more incredible views from the top as the clouds cleared. Met some more friendly hikers near the summit. Lots of good cheer going around. Down Dicey's Mill Trail. Again, another beautifully tracked trail, all the way to the road. Spikes all day, snowshoes stayed in the car. A perfect hike on a perfect day. Thank you so much to the hard working snowshoers who broke out the trails and let me have an "easy" day. I appreciate you greatly.
