Solo hike, clockwise loop over Anna, the Quarrys, and the Straightbacks starting and ending at the end of Alton Mountain Road. About 4"-8" mashed potato snow on the ridge, less below with washouts and bare rock in places. A few icy spots on the ledges. Some minor flooding and muddy spots. Trails were pretty well trampled out but goopy with unstable wet snow. Lots of rocks poking through. I used light traction. Bumped into five other hikers entire day, including one familiar face. |
