A huge thanks to Chris and Mountain Wanderer for their help in preparing for this hike and also the other reviews this past week. To the snowshoers who broke out Rollins, thank you as well.
Blueberry Ledge Trail - Wore nanospikes from Ferncroft to Tom Wiggins (Wiggins is not packed out, but had one snowshoe track evident under the recent snowfall). Changed to Hillsound 10 pt Crampons, but that turned out to be overkill as microspikes would have worked fine (although the extra 2 inches did help on those first two scrambles!). The first section of ledges were managed well, thanks to to help of previous posters.
There are a couple scrambles beyond the first three, closer to the main viewpoint which have no evident handholds or tree/root handholds, that were a mix of packed snow, loose snow and exposed rock that may become more challenging as conditions change.
Rollins Trail - Rollins was a super-highway. Wore nanospikes to Pass summit.
Walden Trail - Changed to microspikes for the descent down. This was broken out, but not quite as well as Rollins.
Dicey’s Mill - Wore Micro’s until after the crossing. Another highway. So well packed out. Thank you snowshoers!
