No views today, but the approach from 116 never disappoints.
Snowshoes from car to summit on way up. Trail was a little bony in places, but given the soft snow conditions in the morning (and the use of televators), I think we were all happy we opted for the snowshoes.
We switched to spikes for the descent (as did another group of 5 we met at the summit who were heading down FJ), and was definitely the right call. The snow has firmed up with the rising temps and traffic, so it was a quick descent down.
About to 6 to 12 more inches of snow will set this trail up for the lovely snowshoe track that it becomes each winter. |
