Comments
Comments: Got to hike with someone for whom it was their first-ever winter hike, and their first hike in the Belknap Range It was a great day for a first outing!
Gave a paper map to a different companion who then took a picture and left the paper map behind. For a phone-based map, I'd recommend the map here (http://belknaprangetrails.org/belknap-range-trail-map/) in conjunction with the Avenza pdf maps app, which allows one map to be loaded in for free to try it out. Still, carry a paper copy!
Two of our four wore microspikes (sometimes on just one boot), one had chains, and one bare-booted. No one had traction issues on any of the trails. ymmv
