Comments
Comments: Another great day for a hike! The trail up to Cabot was initially in that weird zone where snowshoes are overkill but spikes sink in a little bit too much. Luckily there were a dozen or so groups out yesterday so the trail became packed throughout the day, making for very fast going the entire way.

The drive to the trailhead is also in great condition. The gate was wide open at 7:55 and the road and trailhead were very well plowed and safe as long as you take it slow. Huge thanks to the hatchery folks for keeping things accessible.

This hike was an up and back, but at least two groups planned on a Horn, Bulge and Unknown Pond loop. KRT past the Cabot summit had about 4-6 inches of powder with a couple sets of tracks in it while I was there. In short - packed trails up to Cabot and spike/snowshoe conditions on the back half of the loop.
