 | Comments: |
Roughly 5 inches of fresh powder to start in which we barebooted until north tri slide. I then switched to hillsound pros and my friend switched to longer crampons. Neither were very effective due to anywhere from a couple inches to a couple feet of loose snow on top of sometimes ice and sometimes rock. Aggressive snowshoes may have been more effective but we unfortunately did not bring them. Ice axes were out for both slides and well needed especially during the ascent of north slide. No other hikers or hiker tracks in the snow today for an overall beautiful day. Happy Holidays |
