| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Mine was the 3rd car in the Glencliff lot; the lot had 11 creatively parked cars when I returned. I was actually planning to hike from the Ravine Lodge but the road off 118 was not plowed and even with my Subaru, was too sketchy. I couldn’t see any 118 roadside parking where I could have gotten my entire car out of the lane of travel, so I headed over to Glencliff. It worked out great because I like Glencliff too! |

| Comments: |
I snowshoed from my car to the Moosilauke summit; I was the 3rd one out of the parking lot but the second snowshoer. I passed a bare boots couple at about 1 mile and after that it was dreamy hiking - there was just enough fresh powder and drifted snow for completely awesome snowshoeing with nary a rock scrape sound! It was one of those bright blue sky mornings, and with the white coated trees, it was really the very best winter postcard!!
Sadly it was not at all that way, on the way down, but everyone gets to hike their own hike!
Happy holidays!!! |
