It was a nice day for a jaunt up to Tecumseh. It was freezing rain on the drive to the trailhead, and the rain persisted until we were past the “View,†but after that, and all the way back down, it was snow. About 2†fell while we were hiking. I wore my Hillsounds from the parking lot back to the parking lot; you could feel the ice under the snow (but happily there is now enough snow so as not to have that horrific crunching sound of spikes on rock - eek!!). You could potentially argue that they were mostly not needed; hard to say. Snowshoes would have been overkill as the track is packed and the light, fluffy snow was minimal during our hike. We saw 3 others; 1 was Santa. Did you know that Santa’s actual name is Sean?
Happy Holidays!! |
