Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway is blazed in white. Just stay on Nye Rd until the house, then bear right into the woods on an old road and stick on that. Not hard to do. White blazes appear every so often.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure, but I’d be careful around the house.

Comments
Comments: Day 53, Peak 50. 3rd hike of the day, squeezing it in just before it got dark as I often do ;) A very windy and cold (low-mid 20s) day and it was clouding over some by the time I did this hike.

I crossed Route 9, walked briefly north along the road, before turning left onto Nye Rd which I walked to its end. The road itself has white blazes for the MSG. The road stops by a house but then an older road continues still blazed in white for the MSG. It ascends at easy grades and after a short while became more icy and I threw on the spikes which I left on for the rest of the hike. Gaia shows an unnamed road diverging left from this road at about 1750ft but the road was not obvious. I took a left here and began my bushwhack though.

Along my whack, I found mostly open woods and some old roads. I walked the summit ridge to the high point and found the jar no problem. More sign ins there than I would’ve guessed but the paper quality was sort of poor, easily ripping and hard to write on; I think they’d gotten wet before though they were dry at the moment. Oh well. I signed in and headed back down. After a short while, I found a road that took me back to the MSG. This was just a couple hundred feet before the road shown on Gaia and is easy to find though I did not notice it on my way up. If doing this again, I’d recommend jumping off the MSG there and taking this road to the summit though it won’t get you all the way there.

About 3.75mi with 600ft of gain taking just under 1hr45min. 312 more days and 315 more peaks to go…
