Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a large tree across the road almost exactly 2 miles from the gate. The main trunk is at least 18” diameter and extends about 1/3 of the way across the road and then it splits into two trunks each at least 12” diameter. Those two trunks run across the rest of the road to the other side. Maybe a really energetic person could clear the smaller trunks with an axe but that main truck looks like it needs a chainsaw.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few as I was headed back.

Comments
Comments: I am leaving this trail report due to the blowdown (see the Trail Maintenance section). I snowshoed from the gate to the spot in the road where there was a washout and you can see Slippery Brook (I like that spot and wanted a winter photo!!). I wore snowshoes which were helpful in the snowy spots. However, where the trees extend over the road the snow is more shallow and there is very clearly ice under the snow, and snowshoes were not helpful on that!! We didn’t get enough snow for the snow to be really helpful with all of the ice (maybe we got 5” in the Mt Washington Valley?)
I have a bunch of photos of the blowdown along with GPS coordinates; if that information is helpful please email me at my name at yahoo. Stay safe!!
