Parking/Access Road Notes: Final bit into Reel Brook Trail is a bit muddy, bumpy, and may be problematic for low clearance vehicles.
Surface Conditions

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Lots of chances for wet feet, particularly the main crossing of Eliza Brook near the shelter, where a bit of minor dunking is required. Waterproof footwear is the way to go.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: It has been windy. Consequently there are a few blowdowns here and there and many branches strewn about the trails. Nothing show stopping. Water bars could use a cleaning; I unclogged a couple.
Dog-Related Notes

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found some garbage hanging in a tree on South Kinsman. Packed it out.

Comments
Comments: Followed Reel Brook Trail until the powerline. Ascended powerline for a bit, from approximately 1800’ to 2600’. Do not recommend. Bushwhacked back to RBT.

Eliza Brook cascades were so beautiful today!!

Barebooted until well above Harrington Pond, elev. ~3600. Sharp Hillsounds from that point to about 3200’ on Mt. Kinsman Trail which was very icy. Some may be more comfortable in crampons. 3200’ down to MKT TH was ice free smooth sailing, a few muddy spots.

Great day out w/ Cruddytoes.
