About 1/10 of a mile into the Hale Brook Trail, there is a tangle of several blowdowns that completely blocks the trail. Easily walked around.

Zealand Road is virtually free of ice and snow. Very quick bare-boot to the trailhead.
Put spikes on after about 1/2 mile up the Hale Brook Trail.
Plenty of ice to be found throughout. The sidehill isn't too bad though. Last 1/2 mile below the summit has decent packed snow coverage.
All things considered, pretty good conditions for December. |
