Comments
Comments: Is it early November? The trail is mostly ice. Above Mitzpah cutoff there's a good stretch of packed down snow, which was a relief. I used Microspikes, but would have preferred something a little sharper, like Hillsounds. Even at 200 lbs I had to stomp my feet in some sections to get stable traction. The descent down all the ice floes was tedious, I almost slipped a few times. Between Pierce and Eisenhower is a mix of ice, exposed, rock, and crusty drifts. Watch out for postholes in this area, they will be quite hard by the time snow falls Wednesday night.

The wind was howling and the views were spectacular. The rock pile at the top of Eisenhower was a good shelter.
