it was quite the mixed bag of conditions. basically dry trail to bald peak then there are splotches of ice (rock spikes good for this) and then about 3000'the real ice begins. there are serious ice flows all the way to north kinsman summit. sharp spikes would be helpful. I didn't feel like changing and made it ok. there are some small whacks around a few of the flows. conditions totally different between north and south. its basically packed snow. there is one small section of ice but if you made it that far it was super easy. Shout out to Dorothy who I met about halfway up and we chatted to the summit of North. Hope we meet again. Also shout out to TicTacMan and Patches. After we chatted I realized we met on the way to the Bonds last March. |
