 | Comments: |
Trail was very, very icy from top to bottom. On the return, the sun and warm temps were working away at the glacial conditions down low, but the upper portions have truly remarkable amounts. Water was flowing in some spots. No mud. Snow cover above about 2800 in the woods. In the Alpine zone the open ground is pretty bare, trail proper is solid ice. Decent microspikes were sufficient for me. Hillsounds were the traction of choice for the dozen or so out this fine day. One hiker had on 10 point crampons. Windy and cold on top with inspiring views. |
