Comments
Comments: Lots of people out here today. All agreed that there was nothing to be done today to prepare for Irene, except get some hiking in.

The weather was very nice for hiking, slightly humid, but really not bad. There was the occasional breeze to help out. The Mt Osceola trail up to Osceola was very pleasant. I hadn't been here since 2003 and hadn't remembered what it was like. It feels very gradual and has many very pretty spots. The "chimney" was indeed steep, but added some variety to the trip. Took a friend on her second trip in the Whites. She impressed by the view and really like Osceola.
