Comments
Comments: Late start 9:45am? Put spikes on pretty quickly-most of the road walk was icy and I didn’t want to have to watch my footing-ice on trail was pretty intense almost the entire ascent-I contemplated switching to crampons but with stepping/stomping I was able to hold my footing. Summit was fine-hardly any wind that was forecasted-other than the normal on the tower- On the downhill-hitting my first tricky ice spot I switched to crampons (G10’s) which made the descent VERY easy and fast. Changed back to spikes in lower elevations when things flattened out a bit. I didn’t see anyone all day-a couple cars in the parking area when I started (so if they were out I may have passed them when I took that small section of the old trail on my way in).
