River is higher and faster than I'd have liked. Some stepping stones were below the surface but enough of the rest were slick ice-free |

One medium spruce across the trail 1000 feet south of the final river crossing (southbound) |

| Comments: |
Tough hike. I was the only person on the trail. Only micro spikes were needed till about 4000 feet as there's minimal snow. Higher than that, snoeshoes are best as the drifts come and go. Most of that higher terrain does have a crust below the recent powder but it doesn't always hold weight. There's periodic ice but it's avoidable. |
