Comments
Comments: beautiful morning hike; no breeze at all until the summit; I put on spikes prior to the first of the two larger crossings, but only because I needed to delayer and didn't want an additional stop; otherwise, I would have put them on at the first crossing; one/two fallen tree(s) towards beginning of trail that can easily be navigated around; carried snowshoes 'just in case'; would have put them on approx. 0.1mi from the summit, but given that it was so close to the summit, I decided against it; lower down snowshoes would make no sense; kept spikes on all the way back to the kiosk/trailhead;
a lot of animals tracks this morning; several deer tracks together on way up to summit; they seemed to have huddled between two large spruce trees, given the tracks; just before the summit, fresh moose tracks that almost went all the way to the summit;
on the way down some wind gusts; my own prints had been partially obscured again;
as I walked out on Zealand Rd, I met two hikers and one dog I had heard about - great to finally meet you two/three! :) ;
several tracks continued up Zealand Rd; I assume a Zealand-Bonds traverse
