Comments
Comments: We had a gorgeous day, Mondays rain really changed conditions of the mountains. 4 of us hiked, 1 wore spikes start to finish, was mainly manageable until after the crossing about 2mi onto actual trail. I’d recommend just wearing them as on our way down we were slipping and sliding and falling. Worst spot was around 25-2600ft and after that really you need spikes, your sharpest set will do you good. Real sheets of ice, I had two major falls on the way up without spikes on, another friend had one as well. Around 3800 ft snow became more apparent, and was all doable. Ridge was gorgeous, some drifts but nothing major. Hopefully snowfall will help with the icy conditions.
