Great late morning/afternoon for this combo.Although there were no views it really was a winter wonderland of beauty from Starr King on.Micros start to finish with ice starting on the first fifty feet of the trail. Trace amounts of snow down low gradually increasing at upper elevations. between Starr King/Waumbek the trail is tilled enough to turn an ankle in spots. there is heavy drifting just before/after the summit of Waumbek. Snowshoes stayed in the trunk. Looking forward to a heavy snow storm to set a nice snowshoe track. it was nice briefly chatting with the 4 other hikers i crossed paths with today |
