Comments
Comments: Rocky Branch Tr, Engine Hill Herd Paths, Isolation Trail East, Iso Express Herd Path, Davis Path, Isolation Spur

Felt more like March then December with the balmy temps, warm sun, and lots of spring snow conditions with crusty snow in the woods and lots of spring snow and unconsolidated powder in places on trail mixed with the occasional icy section where I got to play everyones favorite game of will it break and dunked each foot good a couple times near the top of engine hill. Theres a lot of various herd path lines broken out with the 4 main ones roughly broken out. I got suckered into the low line on my way up and got dumped out at 2900' well below my target of 3200' where the iso express herd path starts. Well broken out and follows the route on gaia with semi-frequent green tree marking tape as route flagging. On my return trip took one of the middle herd path lines contouring between 3100-3200' and then got sucked off route by footprints that looked like they bypassed the major bog near where the herd path leaves Rocky branch trail and prior to splitting into 4 paths, this was a net negative move and don't recommend. Saw 1 person even though there were about 10 out there due to my route. Late start so got some great alpenglow action on the various peaks in Jackson before putting on the headlamp for the final mile out.
