||Avalon Trail, Willey Range Trail, A-Z Trail, Mt. Tom Spur|
|Date of Hike:
||Saturday, December 4, 2021|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Small lot at Crawford Depot (near the bathrooms) is closed.
Saw some other vehicles struggle to get out of parking areas steeply below 302 (across from the Crawford Depot). |
||Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
||Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||The main crossing was almost completely bridged by ice. With attention, crossing was simple. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||One blowdown to duck under on the Willey Range between Field and Willey. |
||Fine for dogs. |
|Lost and Found:
||6-12’ of snow, can do most of this hike without traction. There were a few icy spots where spikes come in handy. We had snowshoes but didn’t need to use them. |
You won’t want to miss the Willey viewpoint, not far past the summit.
Looking down the trail towards the ladders was not broken out.
