Signal ridge trail was frozen and had a dusting on snow on the trail for some nice traction. The water crossing was fine. Rock hopped. I put on my spikes for better traction at 3200 feet. The snow was manageable it was nice and fluffy. Started the hike at 3:30am wanted to see Sunrise on summit. My group got to the ridge and saw the sunrise from the ridge. It was very very cold on the ridge and on the summit observatory. I was on the summit for 10 minutes before I started back down. cruised back down and warmed up. Saw two groups heading up. Its Winter seasons in the Whites. Time to Road walk. Keep Safe Hikers. |
