Only a few vehicles in the Alton Mountain Road lot this morning/afternoon. Mt. Major lot did not overflow. |

Beaver pond crossing on Old Stage Road was not an issue today (enough crushed rock has been added to cross without any crazy moves). Lower crossings on Anna Red and Precipice took a little bit of maneuvering. Upper Anna and Precipice crossings were easily rock hopped. |

Took out a few blowdowns on Anna Red and did some spot brushing. No blowdowns remain on the mentioned sections of trail. |

A dusting of snow down low (and a few areas of muck). Snow increased to just over an inch as one ascended Precipice East. Occasional peak-a-boo ice down low, but nothing too bad. Slippery leaves were the trickiest part.
Up on the ridge, there were some patches of ice on the ledges that some may think warrants Microspikes. We were able to get through without too much maneuvering.
Descending Anna on Anna Red (after the brief detour to the view off Anna-Goat Pasture), there also wasn't too much ice, but plenty of slippery leaves.
If doing an out-and-back of Anna, I think Microspikes would be superfluous.
Decent late fall day, though the sun never really broke through for long. Relatively pleasant temperature with very little wind. Only encountered two pairs of hikers.
