Bare booted the whole way although could have used spikes on the summit spur and could possibly have used snowshoes on some of the Davis Path. Hard to tell how deep the snow was there because of the wind and drifts, but everything up to the Davis Path was easy to navigate in just boots. Drifts never above knees so maybe 6" or so on the ridge. So much water as usual and plenty of spots with only a thin cover of ice just waiting for you to punch through. Isolation never disappoints! No other hikers out today, just 1 hunter. |
