Trails were covered with 1-2 inches of powder this afternoon. A slight bit of slush down low where the underlying ground is not frozen. A few patches of avoidable ice on the summit ledges. Due to the low angle of the trail, I did not carry nor need light traction. Still need more snow before considering snowshoes.
Increasingly sunny afternoon with the high winds diminishing. Ambient temperature was around freezing, so it wasn't quite as frigid as it sounded from inside this morning.
